Therapy and Heimann
Counselling and
Healing
Holly Carnegie Letcher (BSc.OT) has recently moved to Qualicum Beach, Vancouver
Island from Ontario. Holly is a Registered Occupational Therapist (OT). She also has
training as a Veriditas Certified Labyrinth Facilitator, and 2nd level training in EFT
(Emotional Freedom Technique). Holly has been initiated in the traditional Usui System of
Reiki Healing. She incorporates Labyrinths and Reiki into her Holistic practice; considering
mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health.
Imke and Thorsten Heimann offer a variety of
energy-based counselling and healing
interventions to achieve physical, emotional,
mental and spiritual well-being - whether it
is for physical pains or emotional problems
like depression or anxiety. Individual or
couple sessions available. Self-care and
other workshops as well as practitioner
training courses are offered through the
Institute for Humanistic Energy Therapy.
"My work began as an OT at the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Programme at St. Joseph's Healthcare
Hamilton, Ontario and has evolved into my private practice Sacred Circles, Healing Hands. I offer group
Health & Wellness Workshops on the Labyrinth. I also work 1:1. Occupational Therapy is about
empowering clients; helping them to identify their needs and achieve their goals. It's about teaching skills
and providing tools for the job of " living and being" with meaning and purpose.
As part of my ongoing personal and professional learning and growth; I completed intensive Labyrinth
Facilitator Training with Dr. Lauren Artress in June 2008. I will be furthering my learning at the Chartres
Labyrinth in France in May 2010.
I feel fortunate to be connected with St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton
Labyrinth Committee, the Toronto Labyrinth Network and Veriditas. I
feel grateful for all the wonderful Labyrinth interest and connections
in my new home on Vancouver Island.
Reiki is also a very important part of my daily practice and I am
continuously stretching and growing and challenging myself as I
share this loving forgiving, healing energy with myself, my family
and my community
.
My experience is that we are all interconnected. Sometimes we walk
together on this circular path of life, sometimes we pass each other
on the path and sometimes we walk at a distance…. we are all
together somewhere on this journey, with the same basic set of
needs. "

I have been continuing my Communication and Peace
Education studies with a main focus being on Dr. Marshall
Rosenberg's Non-Violent Communication/Compassionate
Communication and Naomi Drew's Win/Win guidelines. I have
spent many volunteer hours working with children and adults
sharing these tools. In November 2009, I presented at the
McMaster University International Peace Conference, sharing
Labyrinths with Educators and students.
BODY, EMOTIONS, MIND AND SPIRIT: BALANCE YOUR BEING
Imke & Thorsten Heimann
About Diana: Born in England and a lover of movement and dance from the start.
"From school I graduated to art school. I loved the gym and aerobic studios, stepping my way
through the 80's while working for ten years as a graphic designer. In 1990 I tried my first yoga class
and my love affair with yoga began.
One year later I was in my first teacher training, and became a full time
yoga teacher soon after. I have also studied with Donna Farhi and trained
for mother baby yoga. All the time my practice was slowing down and
moving towards a softer more holistic way. In 2003 I discovered yoga
inspired by Vanda Scaravelli a gentle but powerful way to practise. These
classes taught me there is no need to muscle into a pose. It will arrive
happily once the ground and the breath are also present. It was an
amazing discovery. A few years later I started working with Diane Long,
who was a student of Vanda's for 23 years. She showed me that indeed I
have legs and feet on which to stand and how also I have wings with
which to fly! And deepened my understanding of how beautiful yoga can
be.
So while my unfolding continues through Diane’s generous teaching, it is
with her spirit of enquiry I practice and teach yoga today."
Yoga can happen without any strain or stress to the body.
This way of working brings alive the whole body, it's where we can explore the natural ease and
intelligence each and every body holds. This unique approach to yoga allows everyone to work at they're
own pace. Learning to discover and feel the movement of the legs and arms, to free the spine and allow
gravity to let the poses unfold . Many students say it is like 'coming home.'
This was the approach of Vanda Scaravelli. Her unique way of working was not so much about executing
postures but to cultivate the conditions that allow the bodies natural intelligence to awaken. This also
brings an individuality to one's yoga practice along with a deeper understanding of kinesthetic
awareness, ease of movement, efficient body use in movement and brings a renewed sense of health and
vitality through into every day life.

SING OUT - Sylvia Wende and Cyndi Doell
Sylvia Wende completed the Community Choir Leadership Training program
with Shivon Robinsong and Denis Donnelly, co-directors of the Gettin’ Higher
Choir in Victoria, several years ago. She has loved singing all her life. One of
her current mottos is "Sing as if no one is listening!" She believes, as the African
proverb states: if you can walk you can dance, if you can talk, you can sing.
Her ongoing exploration has included singing with various other song loving
people including Eric Dozier, Ann Mortifee, Brian Tate, Edwin Coppard, and
many others, as well as musical theatre, and some formal music training. One
of her biggest joys comes from encouraging and inspiring people to
rediscover and reclaim their voices, express their creativity and return to the
joy of singing, as she believes singing has many benefits that impact every
aspect of our lives.
See www.ubuntuchoirs.net for more information on the Get Inspired
Community Choir and her singing philosophy.
Cyndi Doell is co- founder of EveryBody Sings singing circles on central Vancouver
Island. Cyndi comes from musical family, where singing was a natural way of life.
She has taken or sponsored singing workshops with Brian Tate, Tony Backhouse,
Shivon Robinsong, Denis Donnelly, Eric Dozier, Edwin Coppard and others.
Because she believes in the transformational power of singing, she loves to
encourage and inspire others to: discover and/or reclaim their voices, to express
their own creativity, and experience the joy of singing.
Cyndi sings in a duo - Denim and Diamonds - at senior's homes in the Central
Vancouver Island area and other venues, and in a trio with Ewan Cameron as
Island Skye. She also has a solo act, and accompanies herself on piano, singing
originals and vintage folk, pop and country songs.
