From birth, most of us are taught to look outside of ourselves for
insight and motivation. Young children look to their parents or
guardians to tell them what to eat, to do, to believe. Youth are
influenced by teachers, coaches, and friends as they struggle to
gain approval or avoid punishment. Adults frequently turn to a
newspaper, magazine, book, or broadcast to provide them with
needed data, while their employer, family, and friends act as their
guide and gauge. Managing ones health and wellness is often
approached with the same external focus. Doctors, nurses,
specialists, and 'healers' are seen as the authority, while the
whispers, sighs, and screams of the body are considered
inconveniences. An alternative is to take a self-empowered
approach to health - and to life - by using the intrinsic guidance we
all have within, as a source of insight and motivation.
Self-Empowered Health is a powerful
and sustainable way of approaching
health and well-being. It uses your
wisdom, strength, and motivation as
the catalyst for change. This gives
you the control, as your decisions are
made based on your authentic needs
and desires.
